#UPCOMINGEVENT: 'A GEM OF A POP-UP SHOP' (DESIGNER COMPETITION), GREENWICH, LONDON JEWELLERY WEEK, 7-16TH JUNE



Greenwich: Pop up shop - apply now!

Win 'A Gem of a Pop Up Shop' sponsored by estate owner, Greenwich Hospital, and Jewellery Week 2013. 

Three talented jewellers will win the opportunity to host a shop in Greenwich in June 2013 and experience retailing first-hand. They will also be given full membership of Jewellery Week 2013 for one year. 

Interested entrants are invited to submit the following before closing deadline of 17 May 2013:

1. Photographs of up to five pieces of their current jewellery collection (photo size 15 cms or 72 dpi only) 
2. A brief Curriculum Vitae 
3. A4 sketch or mood board showing merchandising concept for the shop 
4. 200 words on why you would like to have a shop in Greenwich 
5. Enclose your full contact details - mobile, email and address

Entries will be judged by Della Tinsley, Jewellery Week Director, Johnny Rocket Greenwich based Jewellery Designer, Sophia Afxentiou and Matt Savage of Sophia & Matt, Greenwich based handbag and accessory designers, Victoria Purcell, Editor of The Guide Magazine and Gillie Bexson, Greenwich Hospital Estate Portfolio Manager.

'Greenwich is dedicated to creative designer maker artists and Greenwich Hospital is delighted to sponsor Jewellery Week 2013 and to host a special Jewellery Market on Saturday 15th June - definitely the place to find that special Gem of a Piece. The Pop Up shop competition returns for a second year and we look forward to rewarding the three best designers the opportunity to share their own shop in June in Greenwich.'

Terms and conditions:
• The competition is open to all jewellery designers who do not have an existing retail shop. 
• Greenwich Hospital will cover the full cost of rates, rent, building insurance, electricity, and signage for the shop for the period 7 to 30 June 2013 inclusive
• Each winner must commit to manning the premises for the period 7 to 30 June 2013, 7 days per week as laid out in a Tenancy At Will Agreement which they will be asked to sign. 
• Each winner must cover insurance of their goods in the shop. Please note that an internet connection/phone line is not included.
• The shop will be made available for set up on 6 June 2013.
• Jewellery Week membership worth £200. 
• The judges decision will be final and the winning applicants will be notified by email on 27 May 2013.
