WearItWednesday OnTrend: Purple, Velvet and Hair Wear

Welcome to OnTrend - the feature that tells you what the fashion world says we should be doing to keep up to date with what's happening NOW, or what's just about to, and how you can bring the catwalk to the High Street. Let's get into it, shall we?

With the everchanging weather, and the constant threat of rain, it's fair to say that autumn is on the way. Before you lament over the end of the summer holiday season, and cry over the good times as you shelve the remainder of your high SPF suntan lotion however, spare a thought to what that means for your wardrobe - All Change!

Let's talk Purple...

Hailed by WGSN (the global trend authority for fashion and the creative industries) as 'thee autumn season colour', purple has been doing the rounds on the couture catwalks, in the wardrobes of celebrities and more...

Karlie Kloss in Elie Saab Ready To Wear 2016

Now time for the high street to follow, you can create your own style with looks like these:

Midi Premium Lace Prom Dress,
Chi Chi London, £70
Aubergine Ruffle Dress,
Next £100
Poppy Lux Lilac Floral Print Tea Dress,
New Look, £19

Shall we discuss Velvet?

Clearly one of the favourite materials of the season if the couture catwalks of this Summer were anything to go by; velvet is going to be huge throughout this Autumn/Winter season:

Now that you've gotten a taste of the catwalk, how about we find some high street alternatives? I took the liberty of having a look at what was available:

Velvet Swing Dress,
ASOS, £27
Velvet Embroidered Cami Dress,Ebonie n Ivory,
ASOS, £32

Velvet Burn Out Mini Dress,
Rochelle Hulmes, Very, £65

Now that we have the fashion out of the way, shall we talk Hair Wear?

Since the SS16 Ready to Wear catwalks earlier this year, hair adornments have become increasingly popular, until they became a staple in their own right. For the Autumn period, you should expect to see the trend take over the high street

Alexander McQueen AW16
Dolce & Gabbana AW13

So here's how they do it on the catwalk, now here's what I found for you on the high street:

Claire's Accessories, £3

Love Rocks Flower Hair Piece
ASOS, £25
Delicate Flower and Leaf Comb,
Accessorize, £15

That's it for this week's OnTrend. I hope I gave you some things to think about with regards to your Autumn wardrobe decisions! Feel free to post your results in YOUR stage below - that would be awesome!

Until the next...
